Hi, I'm Lorenzo
Project manager. Parent. An expat based in Milano, Italy.
Several years back, I moved here with my family; what began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new phase of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn't in the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks felt more tangled than they should.
The Adjustment Period
The adjustment phase brought culture shock, doubts, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Built Soft Shore Lamp
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical know-how from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not an official tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Italy continues, and the learning process goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Milano or anywhere in Italy, please feel free to get in touch.
Best regards,
Lorenzo
